Wings Span to Eternity:
Reviews &
Excerpts
New York Trend Review of Juanita Torrence-Thompson’s Poetry Reading at Logos
Bookstore (New York City):
“The last part of the reading included poems from Wings
Span to Eternity and forthcoming poems. A comical tribute
to nothing at all, “Nothingness or No-One....” “The
Passenger” was another poem on everyday occurrences, a funny
account of the kinds of people we see all the time while traveling
around town.”
— James Keller
Excerpts of poems from
Wings Span to Eternity (Torderwarz Publishing Company):
NOTHINGNESS OR NO-ONE
...Nothing became popular
No Where
No one talked there
No one heard there
No one ate there
No one saw there
No one lived there
In the place of non-existence....
THE PASSENGER
Scrunched up ruddy-faced
Old man....
Opens bag gingerly
Sets coffee down
On blue bus seat
Removes lid
Reaches into bag
Sets sugar and
Stirrer down
Carefully empties two sugars
Into coffee
Stirs
Puts wrappers and
Stirrers into bag...
